Top Tips to Maximize Sales this Father's Day
Father's Day is held on various days throughout the year worldwide, but the UK date of the third Sunday in June originated from The State of Washington in the US. One Sonora Smart Dodd encouraged it in 1909; she wanted to establish a celebration for father figures to match the similar symbolic day of Mother's Day. Much later, President Nixon made it a national holiday in 1972.
On this day in the UK, while it’s not essentially a national holiday, we do celebrate on a Sunday.
