Whilst we all know February 14th is the International Day of Love (a.k.a. Valentine's Day), which happens to fall on a Tuesday this year. So we’ve come up with some inspiring ideas to make this midweek day momentous for your customers and drive that Gift Voucher Brilliance revenue!

Valentine's Offers

If you’re a hotel or B&B, offer a special Valentine's mid-week break, perhaps adding optional extras like flowers and chocolates in your rooms. Or maybe let your guests have a late checkout or breakfast for no extra charge when they stay with you on the 14th. The Cornwall Hotel offers a mid-week wind-down for two, which sounds just the thing to chase away those back-to-work January blues!

Offer romantic packages; these can be sold in conjunction with stays or as a gift voucher; these packages could include bouquets, rose petals, champagne, chocolates etc., to be laid out in the room ready for your guests’ arrival. Just make sure to put in the voucher redemption to call ahead to arrange this with their room booking!  Do you know sometimes, just the creative naming of an experience can be the difference in making a sale? Who wouldn't be tempted by Arabian Indulgence Day, a spa day created by Craiglands Hotel in Yorkshire?

The world is your oyster

Dining experiences. Offer your customers dining experiences with a twist, maybe a candle-lit dinner with a guaranteed view or special ‘lovers’ themed dishes with the perfect wine pairings such as Offshores Graze and Wine for two or The Dome's Cheese and Double Cask Whisky experience. so go on get creative; the world is your gift voucher-themed oyster!

Be inclusive! Remember that not everyone will be celebrating the day, or even that not everyone celebrating is a couple, such is the rise in new trends like ‘Galentines’ day, where groups of friends get together and celebrate their friendship. This is more often celebrated on the 13th; however, as this is a Monday – expect those early celebrators the weekend before!

Make sure you’re updating your gift voucher site with your Valentine’s Day offers well in advance to make the most out of this sales period – there are always early shoppers! Share these offers on your social media pages to maximise your sales.
